 The department of Chemical Engineering at DCRUST (erstwhile C.R. State College of Engineering), Murthal, started in the year 1990 with an intake of 15 students for the undergraduate course in Chemical Engineering. In view of the phenomenal growth of chemical industries all over India in the recent years, the intake was increased subsequently to 40. The Chemical Engineering department, from its inception to the present, has maintained a continuous tradition of high quality education, research, and an unwavering focus on academia – industry interaction.

The founding vision of department of Chemical Engineering, DCRUST, is to transform the aspiring youths into enlightened and technologically empowered citizens of the future. The ignited minds of the youths are among the most powerful resources for change on Earth. Our vision for this department is to provide such motivated youths with the knowledge and training tools necessary for lifelong success in their chosen profession. The department of Chemical Engineering, DCRUST, is committed to a mission of devising and guiding reforms in higher education in the Chemical Engineering sciences and technologies that will help to transform India into a strong and vibrant knowledge economy - to fulfill the dream of our revered leader Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram. We dedicate ourselves to preparing our students to be well versed in the fundamentals of Chemical Engineering, to be able to provide leadership to engineering teams, and to be capable of using imaginative and creative techniques and solutions for solving the complex engineering problems that they are likely to face in their careers. Our guiding values, there to keep the clear focus on our founding vision and our mission, are:
