About Department of Management Studies

The Department of Management Studies at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology was established in the year 2008 and has become one of the leading departments not only of the University but also in the northern region with a core of highly experienced faculty and more than two hundred students.
The Department is guided by its vision “To challenge, conquer, and excel in the field of Management, camouflaged with the human values, determination and promise to produce the best of professionals for society and the nation” and is dedicated to achieve its mission “To provide the best and latest career oriented educational facilities in training the budding professionals to turn them into multifaceted professionals who are socially responsible stewards and change agents in cultural and cross-cultural settings.”
The Department currently offers following:

Master of Business Administration (Dual Specialization)
Master of Business Administration (Information Technology Management)
Master of Hospital Administration (3-Year Part Time), a program for practicing medical professionals
Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Management Development Programs/Short-term Executive Education programs
Consultancy and Research services

The Department has identified research and consultation as one of its core focus areas. This is evident from the strong and pervasive emphasis on research in all of its training programs. Indeed identifying and developing insights into areas of relevance supported by well designed research endeavors is critical for the delivery of quality management education. The faculty at the Department has to its credit numerous research activities, market surveys, policy research. Currently the Department is engaged in consulting projects for the MNREGA – a flagship project of the Government of India and is assigned policy research based project by Government of Haryana on Public Health System. The faculty at the Department is also currently engaged in executing two projects, one each related to implementation of Electronic Customer Relationship Management in Higher Education in India and Knowledge Management in Healthcare industry in India funded by the UGC/Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. The Department has also successfully secured development grants from UGC (currently to the tune of Rs.70 lakhs) and the state government for development of infrastructural and intellectual facilities further opening up the avenues for delivery of quality management education.

Infrastructure

The Department is well equipped to deliver excellent learning experience to its participants. The Department has air conditioned smart lecture theatres and conference halls to present a conducive learning environment and facilitate discussion among the participants and the faculty. The latest configuration computing machines at the Department’s state-of-the-art computer lab equipped with all modern amenities are internally connected using a LAN and externally to high-speed Internet access brining the Information Super-highway to the fingertips of the participants. The Department also has access to the online resources and catalogues thus aiding to the research experience of the participants.
A separate state-of-the-art centrally air-conditioned building which will house the Department, Library and the Computer Center is under construction and is expected soon to be handed over for occupation.
The Department also has well furnished hostels and guest house which is within the walking distance.
